Barcombe is a pretty village ideally located to get to many places of interest: South Downs Way, Brighton, Glyndbourne to name a few, are all within easy reach. The historic town of Lewes is 10 minutes drive but there are also some very pretty walks and cycling routes from the doorstep.
FARMSHOPS
A welcome hamper will be in the cottage for your stay including all the basics you might need on arrival and breakfast for the next day: cereal, eggs, bread, juice and milk as well as some extra treats. Visit some of our favourite local shops:
PUBS
There are plenty of local pubs that we can recommend; The Griffin Inn Fletching, The Coach and Horses Dane Hill, The Jolly Sportsman East Chiltington and The Bull Ditchling are all favourites. Our local village pub is The Royal Oak and has pop up restaurants and a regular artisan pizza van every Monday. Make sure to book as they are all very popular.
WALKS
There are plenty of lovely walks directly from the house. You can find Ordinance Survey maps in the cottage to plan your adventure. For some of the best walks in the South Downs, click here.
